Issues between Adobe CS3 and Mac OS X 10.5 'Leopard'

A number of issues between Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Adobe CS3 have come to light. They include:

Inability to 'simply' create PDFs from within CS3 applications or print PDFs from within Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. This issue has been well documented, and Adobe have promised a fix in the 8.1.2 update scheduled for the end of January '08. Essentially, Leopard has killed the Adobe PDF Virtual Printer, so trying to use 'Save as PDF' with the virtual printer chosen won't work. The most consistent workaround to this is to save as a Postscript file, then import it into Acrobat Pro to create your customised PDFs. If you have a 'regular' Postscript printer installed on your Mac, selecting that driver makes the Save as PDF work - but you won't get the same level of customisation or small file size as a result. The workaround for printing out PDFs under Leopard is to use Apple Preview - trying to use Acrobat products will spool the job but stall the printer.

Values entered for font size, brush size, and other variables revert to the previous value in Adobe Photoshop CS3. When you change the font size or the brush size for any of the Brush tools using the keyboard, the value reverts back to a previous size. The official Adobe workaround is to use the sliders to enter values instead. This issue is expected to be resolved with the next Apple System update (10.5.2).
