YASU : Yet Another System Utility

yasu_128px
YASU is a simple-to-use utility that allows system administrators, as well as standard users, to conveniently run various system level Unix shell scripts in order to perform maintenance routines and clear the many cache files used by OS X.

YASU is designed to be a first line of attack utility for a workstation that has started 'acting up' rather than a 'full-on' troubleshooting and tweaking tool. Often, just 'flushing' old or corrupted cached information or repairing permissions is all that's needed to get things back on track - especially if your Mac is a Monday-to-Friday 9-5 kind of workstation that's off when the system wants to execute its own maintenance routines. If that's you, then I'd run it at least once a month.

YASU 2.1 is a Universal Binary, shareware (a mere US$3.50 to clear a reminder screen) and requires Mac OS X 10.4. It's a highly recommended addition to the utilities that keep your Mac running smoothly!
